Basic Rifle

 The basic rifle course is designed for the beginning shooter. This course will instruct you on the proper safety and operation of the rifle.  Teaching how to handle your firearm safely and develop a platform for shooting that is tailored to the student. Firearm safety is our number one priority and this course drives home those principles. This course will also allow you to learn the basic shooting platforms to allow for an overall knowledge of the operation of your rifle as well as sighting in and maintaining accuracy. 

Requirements

  • Carbine Rifle
  • 500 rounds of ammunition, 3 magazines each and Snap Caps (or dummy ammunition) for malfunction drills.
  • Tactical Sling (single or two point) designed for your rifle as well a magazine pouch or cargo pants for magazine storage.
  • Lubrication/Cleaning kit
  • ASNI safety glasses as well as hearing protection.

Lunch is available for purchase onsite at the Blue Trail Snack Bar, but we recommend bringing plenty of water for hydration.

Basic Pistol

 The basic pistol course is designed for the beginning shooter. This course will instruct you on the proper safety and operation of the pistol (or revolver).  Teaching the student how to handle a firearm safely and develop a platform for shooting that is tailored to the student. Firearm safety is our number one priority this course drives home those principles. This course will also allow you to learn the basic shooting platforms to allow for an overall knowledge of the operation of your pistol. 

Requirements

  • Semiautomatic Pistol Chambered in 9mm/40 or 45 caliber or revolver.
  • Sturdy Belt with Strong Side Holster and a Double Magazine Pouch for your firearm.
  • 500 rounds of ammunition, 3 magazines (revolver speed loaders) each and Snap Caps (or dummy ammunition) for malfunction drills.
  • ASNI safety glasses as well as hearing protection.

  

Lunch is available for purchase onsite at the Blue Trail Snack Bar, but we recommend bringing plenty of water for hydration.

Defensive Pistol

The defensive pistol course is designed for those with a basic knowledge of operation and safety of the pistol or revolver. This course will take you deeper into the use of the pistol in a defensive posture to protect you and your family. Applying real world application in a defensive environment.  Your limits will be pushed in this course to develop a muscle memory for you to react safely and effectively. 

*This course will include a stress-induced evolution to highlight discussions that take place throughout the day.

  

Students must be able to provide documentation of a basic pistol course or have attended the BSTG Basic Pistol course.

Defensive Shotgun

The defensive shotgun course is designed to teach the proper safety and operation of the shotgun.  For the beginner to intermediate level student with knowledge and proficiency in the proper shooting fundamentals. Teaching how to safely handle and operate the shotgun, we also instruct on the various stances and shooting positions for the shotgun. A defensive firearm, the shotgun is ideal for home defense and this course is tailored to that idea. During this course we also incorporate the pistol allowing for a primary and secondary firearm transition.  Proper deployment of the shotgun from both a tool of deadly force to a tool with less-than-lethal capabilities will be reviewed and explained. This is an intensive course for those with a basic understanding of the use of the shotgun, including proper round selection, tactical reloads and combat reloads.

Requirements

  • Pump or Semi, full length or bull pup shotgun
  • Semiautomatic Pistol Chambered in 9mm/40 or 45 caliber or revolver.
  • 100rds "00" buckshot, 200rds birdshot and 50+rds slugs.
  • 5 Dummy Rounds /Snap Caps
  • 200 rounds of pistol ammunition
  • Either a drop pouch, dump pouch, shell carry pouch, side saddles or speed pouches and a sturdy belt.
